Death by Chocolate Sourdough Brownes
So, I think i'm going to get a lot of flack for this recipe. I'm the type of brownie person who wants the consistency somewhere in between brownies, cake and batter. I'd like eat it with spoon, and to be ridiculously rich. If you are that person, for one lets be friends, and two please try this! If not, I still love you and I promise I will make some lemon-y sourdough dessert that is nothing like this one, one day. If you've never baked treats with sourdough starter, I sure hope this converts you. They are light and tangy and deliciously sour.
I cup sugar
6 tablespoons butter (melted but not hot)
1/2 cup bubbly and active starter
2 ounces cocoa powder
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
Pre-heat oven to 350
In a stand mixer with paddle attachment or hand mixer, beat sugar and eggs for 3 minutes on medium speed. Add butter, starter and vanilla and cream together until combined. In a separate bowl combine cocoa, flour and salt. Add dry ingredients in batches, mixing on low until fully combined. Pour batter into a greased dish and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool through and enjoy!
